The Ilya Murometz Type A after the removal of the centered wings.
Type A: 1 built, trainer, unarmed
First flight on 10th December 1913 was unsuccesfull, because
additional wings placed between main wings chamber and tail
caused dangerous move of center of stability to aft. After climbing
to about 50 meters, plane raised nose, lost speed, slipped to left
and felt on the ground. Fortunately pilot was not wounded.
During rebuilding the additional wing was removed. After five days
Murometz took off for next flight.
